   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
0 }# q" _- g4 v* v4 xforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
/ o7 p: M# \; Mthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
# l9 J, d/ f) @3 gcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
& W* Q# `0 W& n5 rat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
, ~1 t- Q$ ^2 F7 Z& _8 [dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
$ t4 q7 ~7 z0 r4 l8 |/ iprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
5 d- G0 h5 P3 a3 S  ?1 h    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
2 _: B3 g2 k" A* ^programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
% c, f7 M9 z0 W  {7 J. Oformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
  S6 i. G* G/ j5 W7 u4 h# I0 {transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
" D& O7 Q9 s9 B% D' I1 ephase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
6 E: d6 F7 G+ h+ l& v% ?* @& c6 glinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
9 X7 k' Q  Z* d4 h, y5 Z4 p     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
) ]' s/ D2 R, \. s1 B( woffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
! P2 ]" k4 V% W" B3 o2 ^than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
