   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
: C' m% r' o) M9 r$ C+ Cforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
9 T8 |( J# T7 Cengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
5 A1 k* a" N; J; ~capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
5 R% E! G9 p1 x9 T30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
3 P8 I* [; {* D' Q) {5 Yat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
8 l1 R/ H: _3 b' c8 `5 X   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
* Y$ b7 S) H+ T) Kthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
2 T) x9 G" f1 v7 Ldump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
' y4 g6 [7 G5 r2 j6 |program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

( V9 `7 V( Q) p( M8 }, M, _parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
/ T$ [8 s  E6 h" Ppad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
" Q6 y) O" G, Fprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
$ K/ n& p/ Z1 ?3 yformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
0 a1 Z  d. g) Y* c# |" t& [transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
# H4 O6 f+ M1 E4 A6 K. j" B& a$ i$ Blinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
( D" d/ T0 ^1 e& {heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
4 E# A  c  ]6 ?, I; ^) Icompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
+ f7 |/ g4 [2 a9 V- x% b) iaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)

9 F# D1 p  X4 isimply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
     More feathures standard and optional are available.
