   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
$ J7 ~3 m+ t. r, lthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
4 R3 M  x5 m7 A& ~$ m- g1 Ucapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
/ p* D: S4 p1 Q" {& jprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
' P4 Y, l* ?8 u" i& G9 z2 T30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
3 O2 Z; i2 Q. v; U% Hgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
& A3 r: [' g2 u- U" P! m/ w8 Lat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and

/ c' r/ \  [% M+ U# `3 F5 I   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
5 r; `6 t1 g. @5 rdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
! t0 I) m# p% L$ x' `5 m5 W) E* U    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
+ @6 r+ ^$ B0 hparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
" J4 |( V0 @# S3 L" }/ K% X' Lpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
  B! z& q+ R5 g( k& Y     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
+ ?- F) W" v; Y( R, selectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
6 Q) a+ f1 n% d$ \" Ztransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
9 a9 f0 j5 B: n3 S0 J7 ephase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
2 G+ u7 [; e9 ]& j2 w* flinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.

+ K) ~7 k6 u' h) Z8 L9 z( uoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code

) j. W4 _4 t! ^) Y5 Zthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
, l6 T4 E0 d- [6 m- pcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and

Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
