forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
; b' P% ?& X, @& D& r( F1 C& @engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
- D# j, p* h1 H, yprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
' Q% H9 l+ v1 x9 W30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
' g  U+ t  V0 C" w. g   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
4 Z0 P3 |$ v: P, ~3 p9 @! U3 Ythree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
& b+ G! R/ i7 V! x5 o( Mlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
4 s. t' O+ v3 h0 x: ?7 Q" d6 {dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
. H, J6 D! @' N7 |0 z# fprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
" V4 V' J6 t1 v9 e0 c+ g9 j: u    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
% t0 e' x' ]' S4 b6 {/ n; d. Spad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
0 B! S+ C8 ?: lsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
8 b( f3 I7 A/ `- f; Stransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
) Q1 Z1 d: c: r, r1 x5 fphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
+ L5 j2 p0 D3 r9 u# }" klinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
$ X$ J1 A' g/ j- M: }     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
# g6 o2 N5 m0 a- y' ]offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
1 s8 r" Y# O7 q. E8 hthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
+ R% X+ Q/ N" G& f# Maudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
