forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
, {' v# h+ z) V$ M5 {; D   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
( }& n- s6 M1 b. e+ Mcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
5 D# j5 X/ r2 Sone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
. `4 w' _5 t; W; Z8 [5 N* d0 Z6 Jthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
, M& Y+ S8 l$ T8 i5 mlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
/ O2 m" Q& D( S  u5 V- ~  G* ]. Rprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
3 c1 Z. }1 ?& k' Fre-program it later for another use.
  Q3 C4 ~9 F) z8 k6 s, `/ s6 L    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
1 U$ |# I  r1 I( F# Oparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
% _1 Y$ l' K$ o1 k& V     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
# M8 J* L/ c& A( ]transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
0 {+ {* z- P' Y' Aphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
5 |3 w5 Q6 J# s. j7 g" Plinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
) C+ c/ Y( V( c: Jquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
/ k4 O) y7 T5 i! qoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
# q% C/ T% `  A  J. c8 Rbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
7 ^3 m& P" I; L! a2 p! k# aheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
