forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
, I' j: {' e: t. |  s% u7 Pthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
% ^4 J. A" E+ [7 S- L$ g+ Qengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
' b3 ~( f. K. Aprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
! X# r& x9 ?- g* x3 igives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
9 O' c8 H; m5 L% V4 o   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
/ M- c' W5 f( C' l3 N" lvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
: ?# @8 @) k, l. Rlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
3 x( b. \" V/ v$ Y! D7 x1 l" o& xdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
6 e2 L/ N9 }$ }parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
/ J+ J, {& ?3 h# X9 f. I6 a+ l! U, M     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
/ ^- x1 G- Z! n1 _phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
8 y2 {6 e0 d2 d  Alinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
1 U; p, t/ Y6 B) {quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
9 \! O+ C5 d  g. n( p6 m8 r- ?     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
) v& W2 L6 [) X$ z' Poffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
  d. D0 d# m7 z+ u5 ^# F7 g/ y# \between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
; B- Q) J  s% d) @/ lheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
. Z4 R! F0 W1 w" x& A" [0 w, C5 wcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
. s  U5 h3 q  _4 j% Vaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
