forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
& O: u& N' p- `8 cengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
$ J2 U1 q1 ~. a& k9 X30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
7 R% o1 s9 q4 [* C! f; dlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can

    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
) W! }0 s" G. |! d! K: m+ sprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
2 d& z, O2 T. A0 P7 _simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
& `- q: Q) Y8 y5 B( `formulations.
1 u/ v' v$ @& R6 m     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
% E' {1 ?2 ~: o: H+ C% Lelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
8 H! _5 q% `  Z" C' }  ~transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
6 g7 w  R. r- Q% R& Klinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
$ D0 ?& P- e; T2 @     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
% L8 o) G' z( voffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
3 k* e) R8 }& m- `* R; [9 `between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
8 B/ ]% {1 y* w: m: A4 p1 Xcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
