engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
( u! Q! ^8 ^' f9 U& G30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
# `' r0 S& s1 c4 E4 I/ i0 a/ }7 Rgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
! t" S% F' @) i: \2 l( W! A7 [- oat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
) T  O$ R: F- {, B, U* ~5 ?' x9 U- t0 j! E   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
- {$ W. F2 q& M9 Lvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
- Y! _( \- m. n. uprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.

: a1 t8 @6 p( G. f% ]4 ?parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
: ?0 `  ~& f. T0 b7 }pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
. R7 e4 i7 v  S) ?0 O& Lprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
- `8 q9 |- i2 w, _transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
& L$ U5 v, I: Z5 ?- Clinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
- q/ c* Z# y4 @5 W3 g9 @quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
# k$ L5 R; l2 O' z- ?! yoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
' u$ J3 w; C/ a9 s8 s7 t$ dbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
: n2 V  y+ [% H# K% x; jheads auido/code crosstalk of better
2 C) ~; M6 w+ W6 Q* h! vthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
/ f- `. E$ z# D1 K: h/ W* p. Raudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
