   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
/ V2 W- x8 x9 E( e& G' @9 Z8 ere-states the art of analog audio recording.
- ^% }/ n2 r0 Y* b2 \   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
7 t8 B1 ]( M: O* U4 d- P0 H2 ethe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
) V2 A! G1 n8 x: X9 G1 r: F5 u: Mengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
0 `7 c* O' j1 y: l: H# Igives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
! g9 v2 ?; W. }6 S: G3 N$ m. O   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
; v% e  @$ B- P* L" l. sthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
1 M* S6 _/ w: mvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
1 \! U# t+ J  z  qlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
; d* i" ^+ ~$ K2 x6 @4 M4 C# Kre-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
. s; _4 i: X: a0 m+ k. Bparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
$ q: k+ b; e$ o/ w) Usimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
: s; e! H. U9 z8 {; d4 K  l: ]! W# ^     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
) s4 g& w) C, _transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
- D% H/ \' y  \  J; n$ ^linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
0 Y  H( W  e: O" ioffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
7 I! {+ E, }3 k: Lheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
  K2 \  {$ ]5 {% @3 ?compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
