   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
2 K" y# J7 M/ o8 q. W1 v( pthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
1 Q2 H. y- w0 V5 `' qcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
, b5 Q2 u% a% M& w3 rprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
) i# q1 T9 o$ e8 Z30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
6 k1 p7 V6 [, b5 U& _0 G1 k  V- Bgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
4 @2 f' g7 Z/ g. E+ d   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
& L$ }. J/ ^& [6 T) ^* Ethree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
# R' H& Y* I' z4 J. `- o  ~variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
0 ^" D7 N8 O/ ?* }/ ylocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
0 ~" o! E7 y  R. s: z/ W1 Qpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
$ T& t9 V+ Y; A8 B+ k, _0 ]formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
- d; B, t5 f3 p  ^4 s" atransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
9 \/ j; ]0 r$ A7 g; Rphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
6 A7 j, O* J  ^7 B4 N1 E! n$ zlinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
2 m: O7 _" d/ M) noffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
2 P" z" p) T7 w& K  Ycompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
