   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

7 o. b9 L- s; g2 f6 G# zthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
5 K2 Y5 P" S1 u1 C9 fcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
) A  i! h4 r+ g& _/ a% hgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
8 Q. c- I* Q3 `: Gat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
1 J+ e& M0 j; \3 H/ w   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
: ?! `& s' j5 `6 Xvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
3 b& `1 t1 R2 o  }/ B, |* I+ jlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
) V* q& E( N( b: ]# P% |+ dprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
4 ]# G2 U* K5 dre-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
  `* W' @& `6 }2 O2 Lparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
6 S+ w3 j) q: Q2 f4 j, @3 csimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
# M% b2 u' J' sformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
/ N  L/ l8 N7 i- m% T9 S' Xtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
2 B; Z% I/ T, z: e0 ?linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
2 }0 R& Q) f: i- dquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
5 i& ^7 ]9 ~+ p2 g7 k% \8 Koffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
+ g6 y. f+ r2 g' kbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
/ n8 ?2 O# f2 r  I6 {heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
8 p  J* ?- b0 m5 ~2 [: {7 Wcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
