   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
( D2 s: g- C( m: S1 [' v5 Lforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
6 M9 r" a% Z0 lre-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
# B! ]& \) H4 C& b( T) rthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
" Y+ k; F6 t" I& s- y/ ~& Y0 Mengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
3 W/ F6 q" d7 o* _" ycapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
; |# R- a4 n  L( @2 A+ e% d5 y6 Jprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
2 e, D+ E) r* ~, h, @3 Z- Gat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
! ]* z5 S3 E& N6 {! ethree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
/ i6 q! J& o$ \9 Q1 ^7 ovariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
* o% k+ b( f+ ^' E" Qdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
% T6 b; d: w" X& _9 j' Eprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
5 T  c. u# A4 T; U- r    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
! B8 U  q) r8 E) ]' D: E; |parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
- X, g( G$ o. m( \& b1 D& s4 ~# Isimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
, R+ {6 V+ A2 eformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
$ _$ @5 [, L1 B: ]5 yelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
# h7 D5 s1 h1 W9 D5 o( R2 e  X! ~transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
- t& |" u- \6 x5 B5 ^: Rphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
+ M- {  e) {7 E) H% F/ G8 poffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
3 S( Y$ L1 e; P: q; `% Abetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
8 {1 ^5 q. I$ i5 X. eaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)

package, but (?) you'll find that the Studer A810 is

recorder you can buy.
