the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
0 V  {/ Q: V5 X/ Y" Gcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
3 z, K+ Y  p% h  uprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
" {. O8 L* n9 t  z3 b( {- F# s30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
2 {* T* i6 P" ?0 v! Cgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
/ C# G. k4 V0 ?at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
; Z7 Y* h- h! @! r: j2 m1 W" lone autolocate position are always at hand.
- Q, T7 d( H) o7 f" D' v   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
% [% f, D: J( d5 c$ w! N: glocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
4 w7 F; R; A' M2 [3 jprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
: g7 X* X4 N" u! Pre-program it later for another use.
& B; P9 \$ Y! v" B8 `/ U% B    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
- Q2 g- S4 l7 r0 B7 Pparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
" ^% f5 ]. [) f) B: l7 Q% welectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
# _* E3 J( f' Q8 ^* z7 |phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
" X) w( \$ M/ X# b6 elinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
- D$ _' G* x# \quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
; a; q+ L3 \  J/ {# E' ]" C1 Foffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
2 k! s) A) w2 R, ]between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
& F2 t) Q5 Y  t+ v" g0 n' r$ Nthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
& _7 O4 A  `9 [0 V) P4 O  dcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
' i) o, L# L7 O- n) L. Y8 esimply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
