the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented

' B/ y. d* [  ~6 a4 }4 Bprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
8 ?7 T1 r" K0 hat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
2 b' P2 V9 }" |3 f7 fone autolocate position are always at hand.
, p6 o4 E5 }7 A: h. C   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
+ T* M1 t4 q( P/ ^0 e$ w1 Ythree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
# D" G0 Q& M: H$ q$ L6 d) d: Llocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
5 Q1 M4 y! Q! T/ v4 {  bdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
3 ?6 Q0 f! r3 wprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
, m  `% O0 v+ _6 ?parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
* X0 T  C; ~1 @' \; Q# Spad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
, D0 E* W- R! F. R/ U8 U( iprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
! g4 d; \4 n3 O( T- uelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
/ ^0 q9 l0 o# L# G+ w5 t* Kphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
+ n9 u0 @# x/ t- K5 q' vlinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
. h* v3 Y, _/ l& C. g( |1 Nquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
4 E& ?3 C( I& V3 A) q% A4 F     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
( M7 W: e, m) C" p( Doffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
& i* p$ G2 s8 H- @5 ?0 O4 `heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
