   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
( [- h6 \- D6 y5 k; o. p& a( G7 Q) Jforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it

, q; \( k: i+ h( @: x( h  l) Y0 A   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
  b$ V' A; x% f+ }4 e6 ?, cengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
% y+ D3 z6 p8 K& O# kgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
, `; k8 L/ z9 u9 e+ E/ K! zat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
' T" l% F1 X4 V+ V  V: ?9 |   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
) f! k0 c5 n8 y  l# Ethree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
6 A3 B; a: c$ Bvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
7 C/ z% Z$ z0 w/ B  Jlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
: @% e9 h" H; K9 }* F$ ldump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
0 R1 r5 x1 l5 \program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
9 O: ^. L0 K  P  E( g* Wparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
6 a2 i' v% b" p+ J- D& H; {pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
) [5 N% J3 }8 y" r8 m+ a5 W     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
' [4 j4 |: z( l; O5 @: glinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
+ R$ w3 q+ w  ~% k: A; C7 dquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
* I7 G- v/ J  Noffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
) c; J5 t) M1 ]* j3 n2 wheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
* x: `( Z9 M6 z$ c! Lcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

the most versatile, most practical, most usable audio
recorder you can buy.
