- m7 F/ w9 L9 fforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
- X8 N- h/ b; N3 {engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
, ^0 F. [: Y+ m+ b. h6 [1 E8 Fprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
% n' K7 \! S- Y+ _' ?. f5 _30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
+ C9 U2 P% g/ _! V. _% ?* Mone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
% A, A2 K6 J. L; c6 Xthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
' e- U# l: ]% w5 c$ h) xvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
2 I. N6 q/ z3 G* F! H. W# zdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
( l; c& F9 S4 ~parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
% w8 ?+ C8 U8 Zprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
+ U$ K- X; K3 V0 p- J2 L# Mformulations.
" h1 ~" o& f( V: ?     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
) j' [' d9 ]9 M- v3 H" Wtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
9 E  x. J# ?# u0 vlinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
7 O7 `) s6 Q5 K: k6 a2 _than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
7 w! k2 e3 M* q9 ^, H5 G4 [4 {# icompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
