re-states the art of analog audio recording.
  v. X9 |/ O/ O/ F   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
4 S1 ]0 U- R# Y5 M- M* L1 Q. \: ^engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
4 i0 m/ I2 r5 X/ \% u( Q- l8 Fcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
" d$ A) w; ^' X; a1 l8 W  Pprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
" |9 H4 ?  h& a; Q8 i5 j2 n30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
& D; F, v5 Q8 f* g. M% xone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
* p3 j1 X3 `( ^% _  ~dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
; l* e" c9 H! j' f( @4 n" Zprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
% W* s' Z/ f% S: z0 @re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
- o/ H/ ^3 R1 v" Ypad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
: n0 K+ b9 z3 ]  L1 a4 ?2 eprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
% q9 Q3 w# J5 Z' K* E% Dsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
  }; N4 A: h/ R. B& |) Uformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
) C" S! ^! V& G9 btransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
# k1 ~7 _! |  }# |: T+ \quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
% O2 N5 o+ Q( }0 Poffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
$ c# J  ]  W2 i# j6 S' dbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
