   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
: G  l! c6 H) ]forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
/ z* e, `$ k4 j& o* H9 Pthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
* o9 v  k5 E9 ^' ^- h/ ]8 nengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
: y% F8 v7 u2 {gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
! s% W4 C0 k1 T, ^one autolocate position are always at hand.
0 K9 q- f+ O& q4 j/ F7 |/ J  V   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
3 W, J( ^! O9 O" r: Y' k7 b9 K, uthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
2 J6 W: p' n. K' K, Zvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
. X$ [( l& Y" J; K, |locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
8 x8 \. \( D' E1 M. Hdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
! y: _0 l/ }( s    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
+ G# D/ e6 U2 t( I% Fpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
" J; X5 c6 z4 e( x% l( F$ z6 fprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
  L; d6 D8 ^- f2 R) xsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
% |& H5 ]( J0 T( i$ xformulations.
9 ], |8 F9 Z0 g0 j     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
3 U- G  C! d3 s6 k: belectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
) X. s" V+ a! G2 J1 ]1 ^transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
/ T; d% Q6 E; V. y6 Clinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
$ D2 n4 k$ R. Z7 d' a) k     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
7 l# j# G1 b0 ^1 ]6 P( r( Q: i! qoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
  s$ `$ B! ~' K1 aaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)

simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
