   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
% |! X' M1 X6 T% j2 d# w  s. c   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
/ r9 `) F+ Q8 dcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
8 w- M1 Q0 x  d0 jprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
. b* H: f/ v; d1 |  c& s30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
! L8 r* O. d: L+ g6 Z! ngives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
3 F2 `1 M) ?- y& A/ Dthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
6 G1 B' W2 B/ P4 g7 U7 {% pvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
0 {7 I/ ^3 X4 R8 v/ Cdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
/ i$ }6 X0 k: R1 Sparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
8 D. j- u& i' s1 B8 `: p- n( npad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
& G. N4 Q1 @, c8 {% A' Bprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
' B+ W, ^+ j' \2 ~0 Tsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
6 _: p- s& P" wtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
4 }- Z0 ?* c) s1 Goffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
; g* ]: A' Y2 Tbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
: ^2 T' s# r7 k! v( {3 Pthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
" E; l" \# i/ _! maudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
