   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
" _$ @+ r; N) |4 S! Ere-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
9 l$ ~, }6 F& Fthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
" d& E' T9 O% k% d( Ocapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
' c1 m5 _5 P- U% N6 r. K" Uprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
. s, g) Y) h* Q) ?; Egives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
( ?& q0 E+ k" ]3 D' `$ {at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
# V% S! z6 f( i# T! z   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
2 [3 N9 y2 h: a: w, z  m& H, zlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
$ _" m2 `4 i9 O% J, opad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
- t& N) V5 V( U; ]- tprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
' s) R# z# ~( Xsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
+ ^3 M/ n: L" v+ w' n     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
- U) P/ |2 D) P7 W% X2 {* ztransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
* |0 f% Z$ I) @  b; J5 Cquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
2 }2 u# u9 [& xoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
% g. C! a* O# J3 Wheads auido/code crosstalk of better
+ Q1 h+ _5 i0 S! r2 N; C# F3 [: Q7 kthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
, Z; I6 @- r) J. s" ]compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
( r2 ?) R( q* ~& H, u! m/ i$ i: Iaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
