   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
* m( Q& x1 ]/ z+ O6 Lforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
3 T  _3 B% w! Mre-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
- ?, i( p9 P  A2 W3 w3 Vengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
) f& u) y: L# N1 \  c9 x& S' zat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
8 F: [* z- Q; }% A. Hpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
7 F; [; S  M5 W, X& O: E2 [! N. wsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
6 ^  ]% b0 U0 {( A4 B& p4 aelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
; b' F  Q: h5 k9 H- @! D, `( ?4 A7 C  Gtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
* |" t8 L( N1 `0 ~- A% s8 Qquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
: Z0 O% j% R/ N6 m, `     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
% _8 z/ T7 K0 t- C  O3 ~. t  Jbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
! ]% L& n/ B) D2 K/ @( t5 {heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
# m+ g3 t% q& v# o" w: V) }$ s( Saudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
