   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
$ s. h6 [; Z* e  \* k- r: d- b5 Eforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
  H% E4 y- i* K! W30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
4 V) P4 C- s+ [; ?# J" wgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
  e5 s; q$ H) J8 Rone autolocate position are always at hand.
9 ?/ L. ]9 C( i  A# J# S   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
# g* K/ [5 x  @" _( A8 }variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
( e# [8 w& R. Y- i: k5 x3 Q. plocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
8 b4 [) A( q. Z" ]$ \! x# |+ mdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
* |& o9 K* S8 v2 s5 {& A3 dprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
. y) w6 L* P8 a3 \6 ?4 Wparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
/ P% G/ X, c! X* {( @pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
8 ?. U+ S- ?' Msimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
3 R# O2 ]# ?. C% E, X& m     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
2 q1 h4 Y+ J0 F: q7 x+ Ntransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
' A$ w7 q7 q3 m7 t8 Uphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
! P9 g/ o; D  B3 n! n* M0 Oquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
" a6 A# _" M4 Q, qbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
" j! k1 \% p1 qcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
4 F6 Q+ e9 i3 o+ }audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
