   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

  h( b. C1 |- U$ W   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
% r0 t. w( ^# Vprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
& D. @3 S2 d7 ?) M; x* [$ C7 @30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
" E1 o2 K5 F; ^7 V1 g4 nat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
5 S2 \. N! B1 J$ H4 V/ y8 Mone autolocate position are always at hand.
' |* O, P+ R3 S/ O9 n1 ?! k, c  r   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
- k# v% ]  a) o2 G) F$ Ndump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
& [0 a: T3 ~1 d- s6 ~  vprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
9 a7 Q3 p" g/ b1 ?8 ore-program it later for another use.
7 G! B# }/ r) ?) b  v    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
$ U$ l2 x5 T- A9 D( {% U+ z: Gpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
6 W9 I, i4 L9 M7 ^  b, D& bformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
* k3 K% P3 k4 y) G5 X8 Q0 Uelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
; b5 k. U: y% M* o, r4 E; ]phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
; D- w9 e  @" D3 rlinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
! V9 f: X) ?8 U# V& D$ E7 c$ L0 I     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
- l* R5 X4 @, Soffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
/ t) h% Z0 Z- u$ w! p& N5 abetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
- i* c9 c/ h' `. A$ gheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
- P5 m( f! `0 _; i: Hcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
& C: Q3 H$ M) I/ e4 A: x  QExcept you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
