   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

re-states the art of analog audio recording.

% \! y* T6 P# r8 H9 Y" A' a/ E' j" b  ?capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
" s/ |) {! L, J, Q9 Ygives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
2 ]' T2 S2 V7 Y7 oat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
  `4 k9 z# l5 P4 r9 vone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
8 Q5 E1 }( {$ X0 P9 K5 B" @variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
: Q3 A: m3 w% B  xlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
2 e: u- \$ ~8 W. uprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
9 U0 v% p! }6 Z. h* i/ I    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
/ t2 v( F+ o  G+ C4 M6 ppad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
  E" q* y( F6 y; R. ^programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
- @" b& q8 s' K1 j- @; Aformulations.
) @: y7 Z$ ]0 @! w" }! L     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
/ E2 f. O8 @+ Y5 }; `- @; pelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
: V& @5 ~' @: q- x9 Itransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
3 Z# n! j. D* Q9 alinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
) O' X7 ?) v4 ~6 |# @$ n5 U  V     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
) T# p) U* M% q% N4 ~offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
- G: i- u' l1 r5 `7 }+ N' Qbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
4 l' F) Y- h" v* l, Mheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
/ g; k9 [8 ?% pcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
6 v' y% M; z/ Q* t/ O; ~0 Gaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
