   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
7 }' [3 K7 x2 X. bforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it

) r1 K+ L, }% w0 r   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
* E3 w! g( O# Othe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
' I! u& I; A+ h8 @4 M5 x( Zengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
" C4 E2 P3 [6 K4 j0 Pcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
* |  ]1 H" F' U/ cprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
) n! \- u* E+ U2 t6 T8 }30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a

locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
/ w8 X! H8 I, Pdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

4 M8 g3 y) p" S; ~$ V3 [    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
* i' Y3 W3 Y2 v  ?" d8 T+ C. _parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
4 P9 ?0 v$ f7 p: X& B. fsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
2 _7 M! j$ F! B+ C+ b     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
0 `4 i4 Z7 v; v" ~linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
1 X/ L/ D( K, d* `     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
9 v& Y+ Q+ w; K, K, x/ f7 Faudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
