   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
/ D% ]3 |& S" n: Zforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it

the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
) b4 W, `) b& vcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
% V5 k' k5 h3 {7 D: ~3 C/ O3 m  ^processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
4 v2 t5 F  N/ h: e& ]& L! k( tgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
; ?" ~% i, R) o5 w% h+ z2 ?. Ivariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
( y& I; x/ E  e: F! C2 Y  ]) ldump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
0 A1 V, d9 y% p+ B2 @/ J' tprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
: o( X! G+ D2 ?" S+ o: h  C2 Ere-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
" R' L0 o! w! L2 E. ]5 _2 S: vparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
3 d4 S3 p; k/ c* p, a' b" {4 Wpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
5 Q; B! h# _& P9 Gsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
8 p$ Z9 Z, R- {% v1 X- I2 D# ~electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
. ?  ?8 }# w) Z% X  Gtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
! o. @6 |5 v7 I. Q9 Klinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
/ H; A  X: g* E# L3 |     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
& w$ v+ U% J; h6 T5 E# obetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
9 j9 K5 p8 f  Y0 s3 i/ Jthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
; E+ m  e+ F9 V3 J- Q1 Ccompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
