   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it

engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
3 I" j! Y9 u# i1 z( w6 }: {' q+ ~capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
7 i3 B* X* C7 \( I: b5 Iprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
4 z0 V* N. ?* i8 k: O( {7 h/ bgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
& F# G' `6 a8 _, b$ T/ Z. `, j3 Uone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
7 E* ?; g. J6 ?0 w; {+ ^three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
  z5 ?8 y! j) i9 Mvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
+ E, u8 m( |# s* [- v1 ?0 _# Xdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
) @: g+ l% [: i    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
$ K3 {  l  B& B9 |parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
* j; _1 Q! B/ H% Upad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
) X9 @1 G  Z8 M3 g2 hprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
1 M3 P* n' \- F6 U/ g0 C# Qsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
. j* v+ H+ _9 R" V; o" C3 B3 nformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
! E' V; J+ a' Z! R2 x8 w$ oelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
+ F  r# P; k; M& C$ P3 `) H2 xtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically

' q6 U. w* ?$ P# T6 j* Aaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
