re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
0 y! o6 H# m% X( G; L  C! Zengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
9 u. n3 W- h5 d1 ?& pcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
. Y+ ]0 e, M: {' C8 f4 e30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
* ^8 F/ S1 Y- n8 f$ S+ V3 L6 _at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
! c" \- _" A* m9 X0 H7 t' mone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
0 D1 N! y1 c% k' Z, _( Zdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
8 B! |$ D/ _$ D( e) L; M. t8 f6 gprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
! t  |- p. _8 m5 O- |re-program it later for another use.
4 r% O! L/ s* w' ?' E# y    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape

     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
9 D% X: b) P8 N) y7 i: T: ttransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
& F6 _# S( ^5 y! equickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
9 O% `, O% i7 C. N  ?/ X2 o     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
" Y4 A. b  L& f) w9 woffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
" o1 d# t6 L1 v$ O  |+ Abetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
! O/ W; }# ?+ Z+ r0 lheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
5 c& Z" f; y5 X7 ?6 _, oaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
