   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has

+ y8 g. L% x, [! Z: k+ ~capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
9 L4 k& q: t; R# u4 @9 Dprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
) e# ]# T8 |! y8 qat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
, L2 w* Z) \3 m2 v  Y$ fone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
9 G( h7 }1 B9 ?three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
/ E& r6 ^3 {7 d' Dvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
5 v2 _8 `" R, V9 K. b/ P7 plocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
1 R9 j; c0 S. H% _3 Z- H, k- tdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
  B: I4 S2 A; o; a. Z; f! R" C! pprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

. t$ O2 M# g3 x3 I7 F    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
' r; t+ Y% D/ a1 y8 @  X7 z$ n$ D  oparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
* a7 H" B: {; K$ \2 }programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
1 l& R1 n5 C% Z- o     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
+ e& a: y' N2 j9 clinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
& b3 z8 U5 |0 Y) C3 r     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
, K) X. \6 B0 D- J* R) u, G2 _7 R9 noffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
  z2 L3 X7 |* j" z; U+ S" C# xheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
9 n( \( k- x1 Raudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
