forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
) a1 D+ e! O6 N1 \5 pengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
! ]+ W) `7 n1 X# H5 W+ ?7 acapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
( o% m1 W$ F: y2 l6 t4 J4 Kgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
  C5 e2 M; ?  g7 k; O" j6 K3 }one autolocate position are always at hand.
9 c  Y7 @+ B; F   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
, I4 s* z2 }0 |% q5 n: \locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
, n1 \0 p- C! K7 r2 odump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
+ i8 n4 {- ]6 t8 S* L- r+ \re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
' `- K; F& D& o" F0 n; ]1 `  E" u7 jparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
" L9 q* T  X6 F' Gpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
; G& H! x& L* g% p7 f4 N8 Aformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
8 s+ i/ S' a7 Tphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
- G$ W8 J# E7 I! Yquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
. _, q% O; L6 h: z' a0 U, A; ]     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
& h8 E5 j$ f6 P1 v/ e* Y! Goffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
% g& D7 C9 a+ W: X7 pheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
7 j, r; q9 Z9 A8 ^1 {- l4 V6 Qaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
