   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
$ K. s' y# y6 c9 t, A. U: Zre-states the art of analog audio recording.
- l4 ]6 T8 {, W0 z' j. L   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
) s; V) {- A8 T$ ?30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
4 z! x2 k; x: }- F. Qat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
* l) N+ ^* B! h' c" p# wthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
' _& N( S' h& R1 Fdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
- ]6 ?+ `  O6 Q0 cparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
/ G0 F& D- t) V, ^pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
- u" A! r% U8 q% m3 y0 gformulations.
% T  I. {/ }# z5 u) ?     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
; f$ m8 z8 Q0 \+ Etransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
# w+ f# f8 R' w6 E$ jphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
# ?" p# G6 e# S2 Z; @5 Y7 c2 x' A* flinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
8 \/ }% D3 @- U1 mquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
' J! }/ J1 `. P5 t5 T% k+ r; M9 Pheads auido/code crosstalk of better
" R5 c  r8 v- e" w8 uthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)

simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
