re-states the art of analog audio recording.
! y" e' z4 G7 u" B4 a   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
+ I% U# h# P# V: kthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
$ g- ^0 w" o0 N6 {capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
  ~8 V0 c0 g, o8 bprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
) L  x6 J3 \+ e" M- U8 t30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
# M. u, g* D" P: qgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
6 {& S' E' E$ zat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
$ `5 P1 B4 w5 x/ C1 t& N2 c# Bone autolocate position are always at hand.
9 m( r9 O: f+ [, W   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
. L0 u/ A$ M3 qvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
8 m" @9 Q6 f- R# tlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
, H6 c# O1 ^$ W3 \1 T; k' @* Rdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
5 E. p! A9 N: @; ?+ C2 F" cprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
( {/ c: p. y; w' s9 ]6 A- hpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
0 A# j. C& t1 V: c( psimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
" t; e/ X! l" ^& Z9 _$ B0 M8 qtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
8 s8 G, R% Y4 q7 C) pphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
1 h) R+ U9 [1 h8 dquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
9 [4 k) Q6 T! {' G" |% n     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
, J+ t* s2 ~7 V  Qoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
9 u* N" C7 z& _heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
