   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.

$ y7 N# H5 g, m2 [% a7 Y* }the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
- r3 n# o; P8 ]  N7 t1 Nengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
0 z& Y) n; u( {% jat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
* O8 s& Y" r8 S4 \( ?   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
- q, z6 {; z0 W9 m  S+ p' Fvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
( X8 b  c0 r! g* S* dlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
. ?3 G, N5 M1 x/ @, Ndump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
" B5 ^' K# P) Y/ C1 P$ Z. ?( i- \    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
: V3 X2 _' z- Tparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
+ v1 Q( F0 p  @3 p1 P1 H4 uprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
( x5 Q# ~" F0 O; B6 L3 Pformulations.
3 a0 |) k- h7 E# m) J$ Y     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
( [, y7 k" u, c$ W. nelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
. u* H6 @( [4 n# Htransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
3 n$ D3 W" M% u. A) v# R$ Plinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
1 o& I8 |7 J0 a3 e& T( O- E6 i0 e" Rquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
* e3 u4 a! n2 a6 D/ q6 W3 Eoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
6 R0 |  A7 K$ J6 k/ U1 C, u6 ibetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
, w* U& s" C* ?: iheads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
* O1 r3 y; q7 T: P/ ?3 Lcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
