   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
7 f( |9 Z  P0 x5 L, f+ J8 ~- m* Sforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
9 W, T& Y9 S% Z3 P2 a6 }, g; ure-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
1 x6 i# Y0 u5 w; g( e( T: Kengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
4 k4 @% {/ ~$ l' _4 g8 Dprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
  R# h# t" i! `. q# w& a. agives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
1 ]2 v" s8 M3 e6 Z+ Ione autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
8 Y+ Z. \1 r( T% a2 S; g9 tthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
5 v: _. k* S/ z7 s" D7 q  Ivariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
% ?: c  o: B3 d4 |" M! {locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
3 `% |. H3 N7 |- Hdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
8 a* o, a; {  s$ p% `program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
+ _' y9 f0 O) P! S, {pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
' o" W% E4 }- v) A* J( W0 \+ d. gsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
1 ?9 q) j% K' s9 x2 [3 V) jformulations.
2 M& J# z" q: H! E. S8 s% K     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
$ a/ r+ p/ {, j8 o) {) |, I% Delectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
: r9 B4 H* D) H1 K: O7 X3 ^" H+ t0 btransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
6 \9 n2 g; U5 q* C0 n& Xphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
/ U2 d8 _( q# o3 Ylinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
  O  `5 V3 T6 A5 D7 S+ t/ ^quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
6 O8 W6 P( ]7 C: k8 b+ kbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
* f" N- v, O' A. v  Z9 w. K+ ccompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
" K: ]! _  X# y6 c& a: b6 WExcept you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
# f( z- Y* S, mwith RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
