   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
) d# K0 G. r0 H" F7 Q+ `engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
% X- T' o( L  K# g8 Tcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
# {4 Q7 g/ }' L6 Jprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
% @+ n( s5 H0 I+ g% B: D- m30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
# V0 m- `6 P& A5 n8 l  G% wgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
  W2 G3 K% x3 `& i  w9 f( tat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and

5 t: Z8 y) K* N( I7 S   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
; Q  j* j' Z5 s$ P( @* N: Nlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
) ?7 k5 m. ?( [" Mdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
  B* |; R( X7 h6 Ere-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
" V4 p, n% O; Y- `/ `+ C$ C9 a2 gprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
5 n3 i. n, i- c8 `     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
3 l8 C1 j. v! z" q- B0 gelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
9 G" y3 Y% P6 P0 D  y1 v& |7 m% vphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
7 L% {9 E4 E) Jquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
/ Q& M, [- l$ B7 [heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
     More feathures standard and optional are available.
We suggest you contact your Studer representative for
details. (?) we've packed a lot more (?) one small
package, but (?) you'll find that the Studer A810 is
the most versatile, most practical, most usable audio
