re-states the art of analog audio recording.
8 T0 l: H/ v. N9 ~   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
8 H) m: P: W( c" I$ {2 Jthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
  B5 j, W* O: I3 i# Gengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
' e* B  [' |* E( l' s% K" p% yat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
" J) Z. q4 |* K( c( lthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
7 E8 w4 T1 P8 g2 L0 Q' olocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
8 G2 H6 U7 _+ ~" ~program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
# @* I5 B6 k2 J7 k: z3 s    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
2 d) n% I3 c% q- Cpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
& g; _8 j% u9 X  Rprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
1 j3 C+ p$ s% i) U+ z, wsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
4 c$ h% M6 g* B, }3 f9 l6 Oformulations.
9 d7 F: a1 I6 L+ C- U     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
0 l. N: G  G5 o! Qtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
$ d0 m7 ?: F: a3 H! W7 ?phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
. k+ x! @; U, M# l/ P8 Rquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
# O0 [& F# {1 v! [. R4 F: f2 u     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
* }9 b0 v/ y; |! l0 d7 q' Ooffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
0 d' s7 x9 ?$ L1 b% Z0 ?2 o. G. ?heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
) L7 s3 E4 \6 rcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
9 P8 N9 F5 O! N2 K9 O9 y; c! nsimply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
