forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
" ~7 Y1 E9 J) Y$ v. vcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
( Q. J( j0 m: T( [3 p  C4 W30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
! N! x2 L* s) {4 M) X3 b* sone autolocate position are always at hand.
" R5 [; J6 j3 E$ |8 ^   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
9 v  Q  a1 L, _  Y2 _. _' {! Yvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
; y) e6 C' Z0 Z( D; Qlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
- N( x6 l) {; ?! F9 G. H. idump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
- Z- s% V1 i$ Q$ Q/ Dprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
  h- o6 K8 \( ?% O3 U: b" J/ j/ r1 Pparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
8 g# T. y! j+ D  V0 M( Dpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
; r: a1 d+ x+ [) c" w2 J% Wprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
* M& M$ i( I, _! F3 f) |5 @5 j! ptransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
& G# y4 S" x$ U* T7 Q/ K- blinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
0 N0 t7 \: g5 \7 E8 X8 bquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
, z3 _8 |) O+ [$ i4 \     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
1 r8 q" u4 \9 _/ v1 _4 Woffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
) M- Z2 {$ r5 i' Qbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
' }0 ?" @, @, t  @; A# V, i  S; \compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
' p5 e% {$ M+ y9 n5 q5 V! `audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
