   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it

   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has

4 h* q7 G  k- K# q3 Ecapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
. {# o0 _6 T0 Z* h* Ggives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
4 z, S: m5 U* S9 E8 _% zone autolocate position are always at hand.
( M6 A: `6 j7 |5 a   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
( N; r, }& F" O+ S9 U: Ethree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
1 @2 S8 V$ K+ Q. O8 V( elocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
$ X' k: H2 f3 @, I: s* Z1 Zdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can

% p( L7 J. f+ s# K& hre-program it later for another use.
# R# J4 G: ?1 S* ~& D    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
( a1 Y* y' ?) |4 r: c1 \' Pparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
# k4 E/ ^: n; Ppad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
* W5 \* h5 e: xprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
8 F5 O; n! Y" m/ \. E' Jsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
* h8 K/ ~# `$ b; U* P' h) Relectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
: U+ l7 P; o: N6 \$ l0 z7 flinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
6 j' G  X1 A; a* F- Cbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
& U$ U& N$ g" ~; z% d% g$ |compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
