   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
. v5 u& u# A$ c" K5 @6 F: _3 yre-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
/ ]" L" [- l' x) R  m# c) u, A, m$ Fengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
+ M5 \& Z- O$ K3 C$ E30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
" E+ b0 ^) T: A7 v. q+ t( Agives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
0 J+ ^8 F$ V2 r$ S; W9 l   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
6 Q$ s" K8 L) A6 W- Zthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
" g- ^- x2 @  l" E) {variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
) V8 z$ M7 u$ ~+ f, _0 }! \; ]3 A' Kdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
1 D# D1 s% }, f2 n! F9 ~. S# i    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
( e1 b* a- O/ c$ \. cparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
5 G! E3 p. B: z, u! npad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
$ e# G) J5 x- Gformulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
2 _0 l5 n3 I$ [0 m7 r% z+ b: B& ^' jtransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
: [5 M1 e; z8 @' K! gphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
2 P8 K7 O& v% f* `linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
* {4 R- H1 N( `  Z  T4 Jquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
1 S! @/ r7 w8 m. H& W& z     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
& A" Z9 ]1 h+ j- t* V; p; ^5 ]offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
# R! R; F, R+ r0 m& p6 ~heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
