   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
5 u. T2 x3 R, l6 Q# `1 x9 qforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
$ Q  {& [3 f1 E! i# kre-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
8 m9 _* L) o4 O# \% E2 t! b" Vthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
9 n7 r  z+ |5 s0 s, h, S1 q: H& Hengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
/ Y! y' l% z. z3 [- n0 acapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
( s; N1 b9 B" p5 yone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
6 ?5 C1 F1 c! P; O9 d3 Z$ `) G# _variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
+ M' ~3 j4 L2 o- o6 c4 j& s- qlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
! h# L, H: Z! ]8 b& R; a6 j+ edump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
% _, o; g+ x$ o* G9 C7 o7 K    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
- u0 t4 Y$ O4 |8 Fpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
; J0 n3 \1 U! t, q& ~8 h. v7 xprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
: R$ F, m7 ~3 p     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
4 B2 r. Z; ~  kphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
+ T* b2 x) o: Y  k( aquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
5 i8 [& B7 |8 E& koffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
: f; [' A4 F6 I5 [4 C2 Jbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
0 l- h; l& n9 Rthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
# h" T( G9 I8 m/ Bsimply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
