   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

5 D3 o  f. F# v) p+ r   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
) ~: h3 S3 N" c! d. t% A+ xthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
+ j+ ?$ g- V2 ]) ]$ Vcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
7 W- n+ v- |* a0 Z30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
; B$ A6 ]5 p1 Zat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
( ~9 Q- U" e9 S1 q   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
( F) \  `. B$ o$ S* b2 e' A* @parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
- r/ G; t/ M+ h: |  Vprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
( h) \/ T/ l( M3 v% o) t: qsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
" C& [0 ^- ^$ p4 h/ V5 [electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
/ h% Q/ k  i3 i4 P7 Flinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
% x- z! O7 {& Z- Z$ N/ `9 zquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
. f- A$ V/ Q! A/ x( i+ |     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
9 e8 v& [3 g3 A. C1 o8 Woffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
( e1 l7 F# B1 j& N7 r" I4 M& ~between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
, g/ F# b3 |5 V" ?: g' E) Lheads auido/code crosstalk of better
* B+ T# Q% }' l. r9 q* W6 gthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
& ?3 J! H" H" J# Y0 ycompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
* T: p  p) P5 }  Zsimply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
     More feathures standard and optional are available.
We suggest you contact your Studer representative for
details. (?) we've packed a lot more (?) one small

the most versatile, most practical, most usable audio
recorder you can buy.
