forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
( P+ f( f- L9 l# I1 n2 Yengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
- O, m  u8 R& y/ k% V* ^( x8 zcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
) a/ K, Z4 ~/ q! n* j8 t3 u. s# _gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
4 \; |9 ^9 Z, M# Bone autolocate position are always at hand.
! Z$ b$ `7 J! Q$ W" ?   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
. C- i7 D( w1 L$ {7 f0 Vthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
* u  c) U1 k1 Q: r) |variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
, y2 K$ [( _- W8 k- V& llocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
1 P; ^. A/ U3 r# ?) {parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
) U0 \- s3 N# B/ Gpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
% y+ O7 Z5 I! Y3 r  Z0 Z7 S     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
2 X4 W* L  T* h2 H" A) c3 v) Jelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
  L$ u6 @) P2 y4 ?6 ~transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
2 N9 G/ [; a- i- U8 p' oquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
' ^" |" h* K0 z$ X9 m& C' J     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
4 W% `  n6 a' X4 S  toffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
% }7 y! Z, `' I5 }compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
