   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
" \2 O, t; |% _% Q4 ~  W8 w! O" N/ Rcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
* N2 H! C! g+ }2 I# e8 I! T1 g7 Ggives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
9 b. E9 {" T. Z3 I4 `at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
% X* w* D/ u0 E7 k* X. d2 Mone autolocate position are always at hand.
# X. h' t; m* r   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
- ^0 Y1 R5 b' G" p+ ~variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
! s7 w; r% c! N/ d9 Jlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
' y2 T7 X+ {; p- rdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
3 j6 m. y: |& G3 U1 {$ D+ J2 Yprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
9 X$ o; ]9 o7 k4 Wformulations.
" u. c# Z7 U- Y/ [6 [" \/ z' p# P     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
6 Y% `; g% ~: Q" Y) ?transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
- Y6 D1 O) l7 d$ b$ dquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
' I; ?1 G2 e2 T$ s     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
! W, Z: T# c6 a6 O/ l8 [5 ebetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
& y2 o7 C  Y: O! ~9 vaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)

simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
