   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
4 q' M+ z" N' \- y" \forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
  K' |+ Z" G3 Z! y: x- I% c( kthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
; a7 F/ P6 N6 [' B! ?4 O( ^1 P. T6 Lengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
% |. Q* \* X  T) V6 t6 p5 zcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
. }4 M2 U7 m9 P) Hprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
) A' j1 @& T% ^3 i8 p- u& C, S% o30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
: R/ }. q# i9 D% e5 M' G$ Rgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
/ O6 l4 k! g3 Fat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
3 v  N6 \* t: Q" z* y" Sdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
! A& k2 e, a9 P& }+ Q& \re-program it later for another use.
! x0 @9 {! I0 H. @+ [6 m& J6 i    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
6 ~1 m( q8 Y* _7 T! H/ t% W% q' ?parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
  _( V; _4 z2 \/ y7 s( I; _pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
% S- d: Y+ ?. P# s' b( |% tsimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
* C) R: {3 h' e; Yelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
! Y( r& }) L7 f$ h. yquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
8 A7 L8 P8 ~+ v% [2 C. t* v; goffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
4 |$ b3 Y5 ~; z4 [. [compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
