re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with

engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented

processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
$ L8 {4 c! D5 W" c30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
0 L* p4 o2 T6 e: J. T( I! [( S; tat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
/ J  N; ?& c; E6 A3 m* n+ p   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
4 v( P" O$ u. Jvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
( B' v: x- M2 V) G) G6 nlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
% m. T. D& h) N$ I  ]0 X9 P* p5 mdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
. T+ r# q: {* y2 iprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
: @- a+ P# S$ Fre-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
1 f0 i) e! ?: _. s" ~# k2 I8 |parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
# n# `2 r- {/ ~5 Vpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape

     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
, J' O# I4 A; S, q+ _1 xelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
1 o8 v# B: C, i2 k8 E/ u9 ^5 R# Voffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
6 L& D) J% B3 S# V+ `; ]heads auido/code crosstalk of better
2 |1 x/ L3 G& P. @. Wthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
. T' W0 f+ f  U- W  u/ i6 Qcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
, c- Q3 v& p0 ~: P* i+ taudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
