   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
% I3 X0 n4 g6 ^; ]% K. ~forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
) a, a3 |1 X0 B1 Y# g9 R' Q$ {the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
5 Q2 n& t8 E- B7 X. R% M1 t30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
% O6 D" i4 E. f2 d( k0 zgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
( v( S% G0 N- s0 u+ \' Fone autolocate position are always at hand.
9 }  u) }6 ~! Z, _3 [- }: L7 }   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
4 x3 q1 p0 |5 G1 p' y8 F" Athree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
2 ?0 O  ^  S/ }variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
' V/ T: v8 H8 A  M/ V) Ilocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
! _) X/ t& u) Udump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?

7 v6 Z$ G. N$ S& {* T* M( N    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
: V7 Z, w1 T6 {! Y, B  Q5 v! J. Pparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
. Q7 c+ u) F: R0 k! s     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
% }5 F1 r' P" I" o" Y) Y8 ^electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
2 S# E0 g8 b( J# A. D+ Itransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
: h5 O) p6 C% ?+ s# ophase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
+ h) \& a; k( p/ P0 @* rlinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
1 J- ]/ R  D! a     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810

) h- D  [+ ~: f3 |3 i# \between stereo audio channels. Separate time code

; ?0 w* a- c3 T$ Z, lcompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
