   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
. O) Y6 _* O: ^/ Fcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
9 U8 ^. E+ G4 M0 L! c' i) ]+ |processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
2 N7 x& A4 ?  N0 z30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
( U# X7 u$ R2 G7 |) jat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
! |3 P/ D9 ~: ovariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
4 V9 V+ V7 v! [7 k, Pdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
* Q/ O! B8 ?" P, p/ N+ i5 m9 rprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
8 P& y  ~% X/ b1 }re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you

formulations.
) k8 T( A) l( Q5 z3 ], H     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
3 F' F' K1 ~; p, {7 y  s/ welectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
' h, M. L; i" N: ttransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
, O# q3 ?) T3 f5 klinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
7 C5 N! N* v  J* h" l+ kquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
+ i1 U0 n: D. E     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
" U) u: r! h/ rbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
1 f% O; d8 t$ s! n5 o# baudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
