re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
4 j8 A# n2 Z: _3 K$ e: p30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
# A* ^: Q+ P3 G3 ^( J   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
( r1 K+ O% Q  m2 i* ?three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
+ `( \" ^1 Z7 P5 |7 x8 [variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
* t8 X* i  C( Y0 W5 _; H" Elocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
  a7 n: @% ?- N9 y, Q( pdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
! o+ T5 u: Q4 G7 rprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
5 N' b3 a$ n' S' r    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
2 V% u, V. j% D7 U6 G4 Mpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
* a6 @# [+ u* K% Iprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
. {, [' C( v7 N/ ysimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
/ `/ c8 v% e% h8 b; _formulations.
+ }6 x1 ^  r9 F     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
: X/ o( G8 N' n) n3 }electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
' @2 O, Q+ w1 M) w, i8 L/ M  b3 }* utransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
; c6 A6 X$ O( U2 n/ `$ hphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
0 q7 A! r; j- Y7 E' Lquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
4 m* }$ z# m. m7 s- S# eoffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
# u2 _8 e8 b2 M* t6 Abetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
