   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
5 ]# A  i) l/ E$ F$ t2 G) w1 Ccapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
0 m, ^# Q2 R! p) J) v" ~. Y- N& gprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
( g  _6 q7 v8 y& G  `) Mgives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
% J+ r8 H8 t/ t) W/ G. ~at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
6 A$ _  ^5 n" f# r# lone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
# l9 B9 c" }! M1 E' }) N; R+ q; Nthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
! r' D* ^, I0 G( @: ~locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
9 ^8 n7 y9 s/ }+ w/ s0 E& gparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
/ T! U( D7 o4 w( `6 fpad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
" W& P, B  Z% \8 q% p     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
0 ~- \3 h; W0 P+ i& v     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
4 V; D9 W# x/ f+ S% C6 V, Z6 roffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
6 T* g9 z( x' i! ibetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
; Q  b. }8 g9 {; aheads auido/code crosstalk of better
1 L, K" \5 a7 wthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
audio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
! a& |8 G$ I$ R1 v9 ^+ x- J$ oExcept you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,
* J: e" e; k+ D- z4 A: V& {. Zsimply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)

We suggest you contact your Studer representative for
details. (?) we've packed a lot more (?) one small
