   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap

re-states the art of analog audio recording.

engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
5 S. F- N1 b1 I, Scapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
& ?; ?& K+ h: [processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
; A$ M# w8 b& ]& ogives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
% k% w1 v/ }* O: j! e/ `. zat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
) K7 l* t1 H/ o' U$ A4 gone autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
: ?+ V+ ^" s$ u$ z* G1 Q2 @5 @three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
) A  ~$ _$ S( kvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
3 i. h$ d. t) f9 ldump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
5 L4 g7 d! c) }7 P9 z: Gprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
, G# y6 A8 R. j4 A- x, @3 V    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
8 m* ^$ V8 k; ]3 X! e/ X+ u8 psimply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
- E! ]2 S# _, K7 q" |* U# yelectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
; t% d$ T7 i# e5 W& n9 q* ~, @. I% t0 Utransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
. z- i. d# M2 V) |" P1 E; Cphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
0 o* r# f& A4 @4 g* _9 e; E- ylinearity. The new transport control servo system responds
7 t* w" y9 c, F2 Aquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
4 W6 i- ]& j/ {% u+ Z     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
, V8 ^# ]8 ^9 @* k' gbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code

+ R% N# \6 _- B$ \; P+ ^than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
( |! A! _8 Z7 U6 W; Scompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
4 Z* a6 s! k: laudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

simply order the optinal serial interface, the comp (?)
