   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
2 w" R; Q" H) S* L2 Qcapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
) K+ H  H- _1 U" Fprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
" H3 i1 _3 j, B) F) Lat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
( m" I# Q; |  Z5 ~, Cthree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
variety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
6 B& u( g( W6 }7 `3 `locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
1 h6 U5 Y$ B" h3 N  Q+ H! Mre-program it later for another use.
* m) J( n: R2 H0 [( K  ~  Y    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
: Y+ J9 _; L$ ~parameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
9 [  h4 l2 o2 ]0 N' m5 z  }formulations.
: \' z9 W2 N3 K1 H# |     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
9 h! U$ q% F2 ~transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
; J7 u0 j! T. N: T3 o. iphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
. m1 y! H% S# D) R! L  Jquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
! Z) q8 j% l. y  c6 fbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
+ `6 i, J5 e, n. j9 y% Theads auido/code crosstalk of better
8 n  U/ C3 d& \: P0 ?0 V1 o9 B( m& tthan 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
. n5 `7 b9 ~4 I' raudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
