   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
forward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
! a# |4 {' d- F: n0 \; nthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
( x' r) z' q7 y6 q) ^2 ~' |$ scapabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
  d" Z( S- p( F  N( h6 b& eprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
" `' x) @" b% U  K! p9 agives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
  h" U. o: ?7 m& t) \5 Jat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
( k2 {$ J% ~) {' B   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
, f4 y2 U/ ^5 k" X$ c8 ]' c6 Cvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
0 l7 S& V6 \1 n8 F4 E' jlocate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
* r& s9 E4 Z2 k2 Xdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
program your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
re-program it later for another use.
6 ~7 Y! x3 X+ i6 h; a% Q' }# I. f    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
4 }1 D# C6 c& Z& M* T9 e5 Iparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
3 v' p+ X& n3 T1 O: ~pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
& \7 L7 a! L0 B4 G) pformulations.
4 {# j4 w$ ~2 J, q  G' d     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
. I# D2 i' Z. ?0 A  a8 t) W2 Q6 I% S& velectronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
9 c$ m' F4 T0 p" ]: H- Y) `linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
! A, x: h8 j# d! z) N# }! Lquickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
# P4 E( V) W3 }( d; n. \     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
6 t$ F+ o: O9 Joffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
; a7 b# Q: A* p% B2 z# v' Tbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
