   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
5 C# q) {6 o: P7 Tthe latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
engineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
processor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
/ k7 o4 M% S+ Z: a, j/ {30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
) G; S3 p2 c$ I* \: N% j  Xat all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
one autolocate position are always at hand.
& X0 O; t7 N4 A1 \   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
three "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
3 ]  w' `: o3 L6 O/ avariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
dump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
& N2 C& r5 j, lprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
! x1 w' k+ U7 T* ~re-program it later for another use.
# o" V1 ~% M0 @, G0 Z3 i: w    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
/ z$ F* ^2 R5 s' Gparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
1 v# k+ C& r( Q# J" h, Dprogramming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
2 k8 T) n" f! O' u     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
2 [& L. @' I9 G. ^  Q6 U' [electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
, S" P0 U2 C  ~' B7 stransformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
$ R% c3 a% C2 r! [5 Nphase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
8 K0 w2 H8 p4 b% j( s7 @linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
/ l' `5 x) L4 a2 l: S2 R     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
4 h& u2 b$ \8 d# B# H; J' _offers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
between stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
' D" s$ G& d' \  \( [3 C, Ocompensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
3 _- p# O5 h( uaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.

with RS232, RS422, and RS422 modified (??)
