   With the new A810, Studer makes a quantum leap
' C7 X0 }5 b0 z0 k" u8 i7 g3 v1 Aforward in audio recorder technology. Quite simply, it
re-states the art of analog audio recording.
# m: y! j8 y# h; v   By combining traditional Swiss craftsmanship with
the latest microprocessor control systems, Studer has
$ ?5 B9 h( G. c% c% pengineered an audio recorder with unprecedented
capabilities. All transport functions are totally micro-
; D7 {6 U6 m1 _2 k7 R- d1 mprocessor controlled, and all four tape speeds (3.75 to
: K# U6 {7 f: a30 ips) are front panel selectable. The digital readout
gives real time indication ( + or - in hrs, min, and sec.)
at all speeds, including vari-speed. A zero locate and
. S0 p1 E. }. O2 r% L2 y, ~% [one autolocate position are always at hand.
9 c. W, r. y- W( x& i6 u: |! a   That's only the beginning. The A810 also provides
4 x; a) m  ^  ythree "soft keys" which may be user programmed for a
6 X3 u* q1 `$ T$ e# l( {+ kvariety of operating features. It's your choice: Three more
locate positions, Start locate, Pause, Fader start, Tape
# E, b6 Y) @, p2 P4 r4 n/ L0 L3 cdump, Remote ready, Time code enable. You can
' ~! z9 ?2 x$ o# v5 V6 P7 x5 qprogram your A810 for one specaillized application, ?
4 u' x2 ^$ [/ Hre-program it later for another use.
4 B* [9 v# T  w7 {    There's more. Electronic alignment of audio
8 o+ Q, U0 }; Z* J3 f' L& mparameters (bias, level, EQ) is accomplished via digital
8 m* b  [4 ~$ W2 X( W" `pad networs. (Tripots have been eliminated.) After
programming alignments into the A810's memory, you
simply push a button to re-align when switching tape
formulations.
     The A810 also introduces a new generation of audio
electronics with our choice of either transformerless or
transformer balanced in/out cards. Both offer advanced
phase compensation circuits for unprecedented phase
5 X( R7 u% ]& v5 M4 o" [linearity. The new transport control servo system responds
quickly, runs cool, and offers four spooling speeds.
: [4 e& q% D- [. _+ X& ]- G: k     Everything so far is standard. As an option, The A810
3 W) L$ @' @' r4 U; X8 k- _- F' koffers time-coincident SMPTE code on a center track
6 O- u7 ?' G+ Q8 Sbetween stereo audio channels. Separate time code
heads auido/code crosstalk of better
than 90 dB, while a normal digital delay automatically
compensates for the tape offset at all speeds. Code and
& f6 S, |6 X8 @3 D8 A# vaudio always come out together, just (?) on your 4 (?) track.
Except you only the "4" tape. (?)
     If you'd like computer control of an these functions,

package, but (?) you'll find that the Studer A810 is
the most versatile, most practical, most usable audio
recorder you can buy.
