音质非常好，质感浓烈，韵味十足。特别是低频的质感非常漂亮，宽松大气，声音表现和瑞华士A700各有千秋。感觉飞机更好，录放素质要高些。

) x# T% s& m" |3 L: Y+ q# e# c2 hThis is Philips ultimative top of the line reel to reel. Actually, it is the best reel to reel Philips ever produced. It has been designed to challage the well known and quite successful Revox A 700. 3 speed and the electronic tape tension control were unique in consumer reel to reel at that point.

But the N 4520 has some very interesting and useful additional features. It came with a electronic counter, variable tape winding speed, adjustable bias, NAB or IEC equalization at 38cm/sec. 15 inch/sec., an internal mixer, a track selector and a fine headphones amplifier with balance control.

All in all an excellent piece of engineering with a suberb sound quality. Another interesting attribute are the glass heads. These last forever just like the Akai GX heads.

( I! d# y7 f# I8 z* P4 SThe optical condition of this Philips is excellent. You will hardly find any signs of usage. Only the lettering between the 2 reels is marginally brighter, but 100% readable. (You just notice if you take a careful look.)

Technically, this unit has been revised, cleaned and adjusted to its original specs. It works perfectly. It will be delivered with the original Philips Nab hubs and one empty reel.

' e& r/ W2 M) _4 }* u) L( L7 eQuartz DD-controlled, tachymeter-checked, three DD/PLL-driven motors, stuffed with mixing facilities, a realtime linear digital counter, VU/peak meters, Sendust rec and play heads, a Ferrite erasurehead, variable bias and winding speed and soft-touch controls ; both versions run at 9,5cm/s, 19cm/s and 38cm/s but the 4520 is a 4-Track, the 4522 a 2-Track with 4-track replay compatibility.
